The Animal Kingdom

- OFFICIAL SELECTION: Festival de Cannes (Un Certain Regard) -

The Animal Kingdom is an inventive genre mash-up that combines the warmth of a family drama with the unique visuals of a Cronenbergian thriller. Romain Duris (Eiffel) and Paul Kircher play François and Émile, a father and son living in a dystopian future where people are mutating into animals. One of the victims of this affliction is the pair’s wife/mother, Julia. François and Émile relocate to live near a new instiution designed to house these human/animal hybrids - including Julia. Amid the growing mystery and paranoia, this family will discover what it means to be human.
Directed by Thomas Cailley.
